Captcha: Privacy Policy
Effective 1 October 2026
This policy explains what data the Captcha game for iOS and Android ("the Game") collects, why, and what you can do about it. The Game is made by Stupidella Ltd (Stupidella Oy), business ID 3361577-3, Pohjoisviitta 2B 33, 02330 Espoo, Finland ("Stupidella", "we"). We are the data controller for the data described here.
In short
- There are no accounts. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos or location.
- Your game progress stays on your device.
- We collect anonymous play statistics and error reports to improve the Game. You can turn this off in the Game.
- The Game shows ads from Google AdMob. Ads are personalised only if you allow it.
- We do not sell your data.
1. Data kept on your device
Your progress, settings (sound, language) and your privacy choices are stored only on your device. We do not receive them. Deleting the Game deletes them.
2. Anonymous play statistics and error reports
We use PostHog (PostHog Inc., data hosted in the European Union) to understand how the Game is played and to find bugs.
| What we collect | Details |
|---|---|
| A random install ID | Created by the Game on first launch. It is not your advertising ID and is not linked to your name or any account. Reinstalling the Game creates a new one. |
| Play events | For example: a session started, a level was started, completed, skipped or left, a setting was changed, an ad was shown or could not be shown. |
| Technical details | Game version, platform (iOS or Android), the language of the Game and whether ad consent was given. |
| Error reports | The error message and where in the Game it happened, so we can fix crashes. |
| IP address | Like any internet request, it reaches PostHog. It may be used to estimate your country. We do not use it to identify you. |
Why: to keep the Game working and make it better (our legitimate interest). We do not use this data for advertising and do not combine it with data from other apps or websites.
Turning it off: open the Game's settings, then Privacy, and switch off Share anonymous play data. From then on the Game sends nothing to PostHog.
How long: play statistics and error reports are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted.
3. Advertising
The Game is free and shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited). To show and measure ads and to prevent ad fraud, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, the advertising ID on Android), your IP address, information about your device, and how you interact with ads. Google acts as an independent controller for this data under its own privacy policy.
Your choices:
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: before any ads are requested, the Game shows Google's consent form. Ads are personalised only if you agree. You can change your choice at any time in the Game: settings, then Privacy, then Ad privacy choices.
- iPhone and iPad: the Game asks for your permission to track (App Tracking Transparency). If you do not allow it, your advertising identifier is not shared and ads are not personalised with it. You can change this in iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (Settings, Privacy, Ads, or Settings, Google, Ads, depending on the device).
- Everywhere: the Game plays exactly the same whatever you choose. Without consent you may still see ads, but they are not personalised.
Ads in the Game are limited to content suitable for teenagers.
4. Who receives data
- PostHog, as our processor, for the play statistics and error reports in section 2.
- Google, for ads, as described in section 3.
- Authorities, only if the law requires it.
Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers are protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
5. Children
The Game is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has used the Game and want related data removed, contact us at the address below.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU or the CCPA in California), you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because the Game has no accounts, we hold nothing that names you. To make a request, email info@stupidella.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority; in Finland this is the Data Protection Ombudsman.
7. Security
Data sent by the Game travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to the analytics data is limited to the people at Stupidella who work on the Game.
8. Changes
If we change what the Game collects, we will update this page and its effective date before the change reaches the Game.
